We share our lives with two cats at the moment: Pickle and Missy. Pickle was found at the Greensborough Cat Shelter and Missy was bought from a ragdoll breeder. If you were to look at the them both and choose only one to be the subject of your photograph, you’d probably choose Missy with her plentiful fur and stunning blue eyes.
It’d be the wrong choice.
Missy has a rare talent for holding still… right up until you take a photo.
Pickle, on the other hand, is a natural in front of the camera. Every now and then, she’ll pick a highly photogenic setting and curl herself up in an equally photogenic pose, patiently waiting for me to notice how exquisitely photogenic she currently is and to get a damn camera out already. Once this happens, she will alter her pose several times, making the best possible use of her attractive feline features and the available light.
Sometimes, the only camera I have to hand is a phone, but sometimes that’s enough.
